Irene’s – Where do you work?
Nikki – I work at In Touch Therapeutic Massage in Ann Arbor.
Irene’s – What are your specialties?
Nikki – My specialties are Deep Tissue, Reiki, Reflexology, Facials, Hand & Foot Exfoliation, Back Masks and on-site Chair Massage.
Irene’s – What are your favorite modalities, or what techniques do you find most effective?
Nikki – I find Deep Tissue and Reiki to be the most effective.
Reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
Irene’s – What was your greatest success with a client?
Nikki – I enjoy helping clients to relax but in general when I can help a client relieve their pain, especially those with chronic pain its a success!
Irene’s – Where is the first place you worked?
Nikki – The first place I worked, “In Touch Therapeutic Massage” in Ann Arbor, and  I am still there 2 years later.
Irene’s – To what do you attribute your success?
Nikki – I am a hard worker and I listen to my clients needs. I am also so grateful to Irene’s for helping me on the path to the best employment I’ve ever had. In my first year as a Myomassologist, I made way more income over my expectations!
Irene’s – What is your favorite aspect of your career?
Nikki – The freedom that comes with it and I am in charge of my own schedule.
Irene’s – What do you do for self-care?
Nikki – I go to the gym, eat healthy, and get massages.
Irene’s – What marketing do you feel has worked best?
Nikki – Word of Mouth
Irene’s – What do you feel the biggest mistake you’ve made, and how did you address it?
Nikki – Working too much…I remembered how to say “no”.
Irene’s – Do you have any advice for new therapists?
Nikki – Learn to say no when you need to and take care of yourself first.
